Yesterday I went to watch my first sprint event at Castle Combe, there were a lot more cars there than expected and it was a lovely day. There were may different classes from standard road cars, to fully race ready cars. Absolutely anyone can give it a go in their own road car if they like. So there are no excuses girls go and give it a try.

Well done to Toby and Lisa who finished 1st and 2nd in clase respectively in their Ford Puma

They may even have convinced me to try one out in the near future.

Good point Amy re: taking part in a standard road car. Is this something that might appeal to our supporters for instance, especially if we arrange to have some competition members to offer advice, support etc?

It was a bit of a close one with me just stealing 2nd place by 2/100ths on the last run - I done a similar thing last year to the poor guy in the S2000 - although by a bigger margin then - he was happy enough about it, and was half expecting me to beat him again!!

Hopefully I'll be convincing Amy to have a go at the Colerne Sprint on August Bank Holiday Monday - it would be good to have a few more of you come along and join in too. There's usually 3 BWRDC members that do the event, so more the merrier! I'll be there to offer help and advice on the day too

Yes that was a tad close but you beat him on the track and seems that you had already beaten him mentally before the off too!

Looking at your in car footage - I spotted an ideal opportunity to promote the club: just needs one of our stickers placed on front of glove compartment. Though for best impact on any in car video shots we should seriously consider larger stickers - perhaps 2 helmet logo and BRITISH WOMEN RACING DRIVERS' CLUB underneath.
